Causes : Cataracts and retinal athrophy both causes the pupils to dilate so more light can enter the eye. The dilation impedes the flow of fluid from the eye chamber thus causes pressure inside the eye to build up. Other causes of glaucoma are injuries, inflammation and tumors.
Treatment
The vet can prescribe drugs for temporarily relief of the pressure and to the reduce the introcular fluid in the eye, but only surgical intervention offers permanent relief. If the glaucoma is incurable, the eye ball may have to be removed.
